House portraits hang every day in your home and office and remind you of a childhood home you grew up in and loved, or a home you adored because of its architectural details and beauty. Regardless of the dwelling thats being celebrated, you can show clients, neighbours or you can just sit and relive the feelings any time you like.

Many real estate agents find commissioning a portrait of a home they have just sold is a wonderful gift to the new homeowner to thank them for using their service. It is truly a long lasting gift that will be appreciated after and beyond the next home purchase.

There is a much better human connection with home portraits that have been hand drawn in pen and ink than with computer generated renderings. Graphic technology helps for building the house but nothing beats the time and effort put in by a skilled artist to capture the love you have for your home.

Your home hand drawn in Pen & Ink

Pen & Ink portraits can be created from house photographs and scans or from site visits. Typically multiple photographs are required to see the house from every angle and to determine what facade or elevation would be the most pleasing. Ultimately it really depends on what the customer would like.

Meghan Sullivan is a Toronto based artist and illustrator. After completing her degree from the Ontario College of Art and Design (Bachelor of Design, Illustration, 2005), she continued to explore different mediums, from acrylic and oil paints to cold cast bronze.

She has worked in the private sector as a in-house illustrator, sculptor and creative lead. In 2016 Meghan opened her own studio focused on custom house portraits done in her medium of choice, pen and ink.

She works from photographs and other references to create precise, high detail drawings both in her commissioned work and personal pieces. It is her belief that the structures we build, work and live in are part of both our individual and collective stories.
